Moon Phases

For moon phases you will be notified in the "Weekly Happenings" message and the day before the event occurs.

New Moon

This is the exact point where the moon has reached its maximum waning and is poised to begin its waxing cycle.  How you interact with this energy may vary.  Some people call this point the New Moon and use this energy to bring new things into their lives.  Some people call this point the Dark Moon and use this energy for banishing things from their lives and working deep inner magicks.

First Quarter

This is the half way point between New Moon and the Full Moon.  This energy can be used to bring things into your life.

Full Moon

The time you receive is for the exact moment when the moon has reached its maximum waxing. 

Some people believe the energy of the full moon can be used one day before, the day of, and one day after the moon has reached its peak.  Others believe that the energy is only peaking until the exact moment of the moon's waxing cycle.  This is a good time to celebrate the ripeness of life.

Third Quarter

This is the half way point between the Full Moon and the New Moon.  This energy can be used to remove things from your life.

Lunar Eclipse

A Lunar Eclipse happens when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon causing a shadow to move across the moon's surface.  Magickally speaking how a Lunar Eclipse impacts us varies.  Some individuals believe that it is best to refrain from magick during these times.  Others feel that this is the perfect time to work with Crone energies or inner shadows.

Void Of Course Moons

Void of course moon dates and times are sent once a week as a separate message.

The Moon is considered "void of course" when the its movement is between one zodiac sign and the next.  Why should you care if the moon is void of course?  When the moon goes void of course it impacts everything we do.  Astrologists and many others believe that anything that is started during the void of course moon will not succeed.  This is not a time to sign contracts, apply for a job, or to do anything that involves small details.  People may feel spacey, frustrated or tired.  A void of course can last from a few minutes to 2 days.

This is the shortest day of the year.

Spring Equinox

This is a time when day and night are equal in length.

This is a time when day and night are equal in length.

Cross Quarters

The are at least two ways to calculate Cross Quarters. 

One is based on a calendar date when this Cross Quarter is observed and is labeled as (Cal). 

The second way is by calculating the date using astrology and is labeled (Ast).

October Cross Quarter

This Cross Quarter is called many names including Halloween and Samhain.  The calendar date for this event is October 31.  The astrological date  for this cross quarter is when the Sun enters 15 degrees Scorpio.

February Cross Quarter

This Cross Quarter is called many names including Ostara and Bride's Day.  The calendar date for this event is February 1st.  The astrological date for this cross quarter is when the Sun enters 15 degrees Aquarius.

May Cross Quarter

This Cross Quarter is called many names including Beltane and May Eve.  The calendar date for this event is May 1.  The astrological date for this cross quarter is when the Sun enters 15 degrees Taurus.

August Cross Quarter

This Cross Quarter is called many names including Lammas and Lughnasadh.  The calendar date for this event is August 1st.  The astrological date for this cross quarter is when the Sun enters 15 degrees Leo.

Mercury retrograde
