August Cross Quarter

This Cross Quarter is called many names including Lammas and Lughnasadh. The calendar date for this event is August 1st. The astrological date for this cross quarter is when the Sun enters 15 degrees Leo.

The August cross quarter is the time of the first harvest. The Summer is waning but the days are still long and hot.

From an energy standpoint this is a time to begin harvesting what you have been working on during the past year. Look for what has ripened in your life and is ready to be picked. Look at what in your life has died and use the harvesting scythe to cut it away and clear the area for that which is fruitful in your life.

On this day take a moment to think about the fact that life is a cycle of planting, growing, ripening, and harvesting. Honor this cycle in nature as you honor it within yourself.
